It was great to be involved with the Personal Learning Environments (PLEs) and Personal Learning Networks (PLNs) Conference 2009. I learnt a lot about the journeys of more experienced people who are engaged in using Social Media. At the present time there is a National Emergency in the USA regarding the rapid increase in illness in H1N1 Influenza. Undoubtedly, there is a lot of benefit to be gained by developing PLEs and PLNs with others from a range of environments/locations so that it can be easier to respond to issues or problems that arise during times of need.
